1 was arrested on marijuana trafficking charges in Baldwin County

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WALA) – A 34-year-old man is behind bars in Baldwin County on multiple charges after a vehicle pursuit led to a drug arrest, authorities said.

Deputies said Maurice Sanford led authorities on a short chase on US 98 on Friday. The chase ended in the Aaronville community of Foley. According to authorities, officers found 7 pounds of marijuana in Sanford’s vehicle.

Sanford is charged with theft and trafficking in marijuana.

Authorities said additional firearms-related charges could be filed in Sanford.
