Spain calls on other EU members to suspend the free trade agreement with Israel

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez on Monday called on other European Union members to respond to calls from Madrid and Ireland to suspend the bloc’s free trade agreement with Israel over its actions in Gaza and Lebanon.

For months, both Spain and Ireland have been in talks with other EU countries that want a review of the EU-Israel Association Agreement on the grounds that Israel may be violating the agreement’s human rights clause.
