BR Volleys win in Düren in three sets

The Berlin Volleys also won their fifth game of the season in the Volleyball Bundesliga. At the SWD powervolleys Düren on Saturday, the German record champions won 3-0 (25:17, 25:23, 25:12). In front of 2,200 spectators in the Arena Kreis Düren, the American Jake Hanes was the most successful attacker for the winners with 20 points, followed by Moritz Reichert (10 points).

The Berliners started with great concentration and initially clearly dominated. The guests had clear advantages in serving and block defense. Hanes used the first ball to take the lead 1-0.

Strong phase in the second round

The BR Volleys had an even stronger phase at the beginning of the second round, when setter Johannes Tille repeatedly put his teammates in the spotlight with clever passes and the team gained a comfortable 11:3 lead. But this flow quickly died down again. At 21:21, Düren had brought the score level. With great effort, the Berliners successfully brought this set to an end with captain Ruben Schott’s 25th point.

After that, the BR Volleys were clearly in control of the game again. In the third period she gained a lead of twelve points (19:7) and remained focused afterwards. Hanes got the first match point, and substitute Simon Plaskie converted the second.
